Ein Video über SLAP / A video about SLAP

Als der Drehtag da war, war ich nicht mehr nervös, aber davor schon ...
Während ich in meinem Friendly Hairy Creature Blog den Kontext des Videos erkläre, will ich hier über den Tag schreiben an dem ich mit meinen Ponys vor der Kamera gestanden bzw. gelaufen bin.

In my Blog Friendly Hairy Creatures I explained the context of the video, but in this Post I want to write about the day and how it was to be in front of the camera with my favorite Friendly Hairy Creatures.

Unser Kameraman ist Marcus Werner. Mit Marcus und seiner Partnerin Anna arbeiten wir - Alexander und ich - gerne und seit einiger Zeit zusammen. Mein Anspruch, nicht nur bei diesem Video ist, das Marcus mich niemals 'doof' aussehen läßt. Sei es eine Grimasse, eine Bauchfalte oder das man etwas ungeschickt ausgedrückt hat. Klingt selbstverständlich? Ja, aber ich glaube das es eine ganz schön schwierige Aufgabe ist und ich möchte sie an dieser Stelle einfach mal gewürdigt wissen!
Bei diesem Video hatte er noch eine Zusatzaufgabe: Während ich nämlich mit Hilfe verschiedener Gründe meinte, das das Video über SLAP vielleicht gar nicht so wichtig sei, oder man es auch verschieben könnte, blieb er beharrlich dabei, vereinbarte den Termin, so dass ich aus der Nummer einfach nicht mehr raus kam.
Our cameraman is Marcus Werner. With Marcus and his partner Anna, we - Alexander and I - work since quite a while. It is always a pleasure. My demand, not only with the SLAP Video is, that Marcus takes seriously care of me. I never want to seem stupid in the meaning of a grimace, a roll of flab or saying something that makes no sense. Needless to say? Maybe, but I think that this is a pretty difficult task and at this point I want to appreciate it!
For the SLAP Video he had another important role. While I was inventing reasons why it may be not so important to make a video or that we could change the date, he was persistent and steady. So there was no way out of this.

Aus verschiedenen Gründen fällt es mir schwer über SLAP zu reden. Zum einen sicherlich weil es in gewisser Hinsicht persönlich ist, zum anderen aber auch weil mein Teil-der-Herde sein mir eine ganz andere Perspektive gibt. Um das zu vermitteln muss ich erklären was ich tue. Etwa, wir wandern seit über 15 Jahren täglich, d.h. mehr als 1000 km im Jahr. Das ist mehr als unüblich, für mich total normal und das vergesse ich dann schon mal zu erwähnen. Aber daran arbeite ich!
For different reasons I have difficulty to talk about SLAP. One reason is for sure that it is kind of personal, but also because my Being-part-of-the herd gives me a otherwise perspective.  To facilitate that I have to start with the simple explanation about what am I doing. For instance, that we are walking together on a daily basis and that for over 15 years. In one year we usually walk more than 1000 km together. That's not usual, but quite normal for me and therefor I forget to tell. But I'm working on this!

Es war ein wunderschöner Herbsttag mit einem knallblauen Himmel. Wir hatten uns früh morgens verabredet, denn Marcus wollte bei allem dabei sein. Also wurde das misten gefilmt, das Putzen, als das Heu gebarcht wurde usw. Richtig begonnen hat es aber mit dem Anziehen der GoPro's.
It was a wunderfull autumn day with a super blue sky. We met early in the morning because Marcus wanted to accompany us during all sorts of activity like cleaning the paddock, cleaning the Pony's, hay was delivered etc. The interesting part started when I put on the Go Pro's.

Als ich das Video das erstemal gesehen habe, habe ich Tränen in die Augen bekommen. Ich fand und finde es immer noch wunderschön. Aber mein Blick ist natürlich superkritisch.
Erinnern kann ich mich noch, das ich mir sehr genau überlegt habe was ich anziehen soll, also nicht was, sondern welche Farbe! Sie sollte harmonieren mit dem Fell der Ponys und zum Kontext Natur passen. Sorry wenn es so banal klingt, aber das war zum Beispiel einer meiner 'Sorgen' vor dem Dreh.
When I saw the video the first time I had tears in my eyes. I thought and think that it is beautiful. But my view is super critical.
And I can remember that one of the questions that troubled me was: What to wear? So not so much the what, but the color! It should be harmonic with the fur of my Pony's and fit to the context of nature. Sorry when it sound so ordinary, but that were for example one of my worries before the shooting day.

Für die englischen Untertitel habe ich mit Nick zusammen gesessen. Nick ist Amerikaner, lebt in Berlin und ist ein wunderbarer Gesprächspartner. Wir haben nahezu philosophische Stunden verbracht in denen wir meinen Text transkribiert und übersetzt haben. Aber es war auch grauenhaft für mich die gesprochenen Sätze zu tippen. Keine Grammatik, Wiederholungen etc.
For the English subtitle I worked together with Nick. Nick is an American who lives in Berlin and a wonderful person to talk to. For the transcription and translation we needed almost three hours and had some very philosophical discussion. But it was kind of horrible to write down my spoken sentences. Missing grammar, repetitions etc.

Nachdem das Video veröffentlich wurde und einige Zeit vergangen ist kann ich mich mehr und mehr daran erfreuen und weiss es auch besser zu würdigen. Obwohl hin und wieder kann ich es einfach nicht glauben das es dieses Video gibt. Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Alle die mich ermutigt haben an diesem Projekt festzuhalten und ich hoffe ich werden noch einige Geschichten dazu veröffentlichen können ...
After the video is shown and some time passed I can enjoy and appreciate much more what happened. Still sometimes I can't believe that it really exists. Thank you to all of you who encouraged me to go on with that project and hopefully there are further tales to tell ...
